To be successful in the future and take advantage of the significant benefits around agility and cost, service delivery models will need to standardise around core processes, learn to evolve in an agile way, and develop the capability to swap suppliers in and out of well-defined service components – all against a moving business background.
Understanding the technology marketplace is essential. IT is evolving rapidly around a new model: ‘servitisation’ of IT-as-a-commodity (software, hardware, platforms as a service), enabled by progressive standardisation, modularisation and virtualisation. Whilst the need to engage with new delivery models is a growing reality for all organisations, the successful ones will succeed in using these effectively to deliver better services, more cheaply.
Methods has long experience in ensuring customers gain not just the technical benefits but also the commercial benefits of new technologies, within an integrated architecture that includes key suppliers and partners.
