Central civil government

The drive towards modernisation and improvement in the delivery of public services continues to shape the public sector market for consulting services.  Whilst Shared Services still tops the Transformational Government agenda, shared standards and open architectures are generating increased interest with our central government clients.

Methods Consulting has experience of providing business and IS consultancy services to every major government department – in implementing the strategic vision enshrined in the Government’s Modernisation agenda, as well as assisting a wide range of government departments to realise specific savings identified in the Gershon review.  We achieve this by delivering complete business and IT services and solutions, as well as through extensive work on the ‘client side’, managing suppliers to ensure architectural integrity and value for money.

Consequently, we are currently involved in some of the largest business change, transformation and e-enablement programmes in the UK public sector, for organisations such as HM Revenue & Customs, Department for Work and Pensions, Rural Payments Agency, Ministry of Justice, Home Office, Immigration & Nationality Directorate, and the NHS Connecting for Health (NPfIT).  We have an enviable track record of delivery and specialise in multi-disciplinary change initiatives often combining new business processes, new service channels and new technology.

Our staff are very experienced in implementing and supporting a wide range of Best Practice, including: compliance with PRINCE2, Managing Successful Programmes, the OGC Gateway Review process; DSDM and ITIL.

Our Central Civil Government practice is led by Peter Rowlins (peter.rowlins@methods.co.uk ), Director of Public Sector Consulting Services.
