Criminal Justice

The management of offenders and all issues surrounding criminalisation has been in the news almost continuously over the last 5 years as the UK continues to manage the difficult balance between individuals’ rights and society’s needs for security and justice.

The issue of how to deploy resources most effectively to achieve this balance is attracting much attention both in the press as well as within government itself; in particular, the move to establish a Ministry of Justice may make the integration of services easier, from courts into prison and subsequently probation.  However there are still significant challenges in realising the idea of a joined up criminal justice system - challenges Methods Consulting is well placed to tackle using its extensive experience of transformational government and deep sector expertise within Criminal Justice.

We also have worked extensively in the police and security environment, having been involved in the development of joined-up justice since 1994 dating back to the CCCJS and IBIS programmes.  As a result, we understand the challenges faced in managing information, and of optimising resources between police forces.

More recently we have worked on the major internal transformations within a number of the key Criminal Justice organisations, including Department for Constitutional Affairs, Home Office IND (now BIA), and the Metropolitan Police Service.
