Formed in 2008, HQ Land Forces is responsible for delivering and sustaining the British Army’s operational capability throughout the world. Its formation presented an opportunity to revise the client’s business operations and realise significant cost savings, without compromising its capability and overseas commitments.
Solution
Methods supported a major transformation project, which aimed to draw together the client’s manpower planning processes under a single authority. After helping to define the business and IT strategy, we documented business processes around planning, training and recruitment. We also supported requirements capture and bidding for the underlying management information system.
Result
Our work helped HQ Land Forces to develop an end-to-end capability with global visibility of information. This has significantly improved the Army’s capacity to forecast manpower requirements.
Statement
Methods drove through a significant amount of organisational change. Specifically, it project managed the delivery of our Manpower Planning Handbook. This was a comprehensive piece of work and part of a bigger initiative that ultimately delivered savings of more than £40 million.
