Responsible for a wide range of sensitive information, the Department for Children, Schools and Families (DCSF), now called the Department for Education, called on Methods to ensure that it was operating in accordance with best practice in information security and business continuity.

Solution

Methods was engaged to provide consultancy support in achieving compliance with international standards ISO27001 and BS25999. We provided formal training to staff in the relevant disciplines, covering compliance and developing risk management accreditation document sets for information systems.

Result

The DCSF was able to benefit directly from Methods’ extensive experience in information assurance and data handling. Following our training, we worked closely with its staff to progress the necessary activities. Because of Methods’ work, the DCSF was able to respond in a professional and timely manner to HM Government’s data handling review.
