Islington Council was keen to use the power and reach of the Internet to promote services and communicate with its residents. The council recognised that achieving this required a cost-effective, flexible content management system.

Solution

Methods provided a team of specialists to undertake a technical review of the web architecture and publishing environment. We presented this analysis in a final report with example solutions. We also reviewed a range of options including Microsoft Sharepoint, three other off-the-shelf packages and two open source products.

Result

We identified functionality to support the rapid creation and publishing of content, after having explored a number of proprietary and open source content management systems. Our comprehensive report outlined the functionality, technical architecture and indicative costs for the various options, providing a platform for the council to procure a flexible solution for the future.
