The Department for Transport (DfT) is responsible for the delivery of a reliable, safe and secure transport system. It employs around 18,000 staff, oversees consolidated operating costs of £12 billion and manages £80 billion of assets. To help ensure that train operators run their services on time it has deployed ‘PERCY’, an electronic system used by train operating companies to audit timetables.

Solution

Methods supports and hosts the functionality of PERCY, which is a web-based application. We also provide the client with a range of services around the system, including service desk support, operation system support, SQL server installations, configurations, maintenance and monthly system health checks.

Result

Our hosting and technical support ensures that the system can be accessed by clients 24/7. Significant savings have been delivered through more efficient processes and better auditing. It has led to an enduring relationship with the client that has lasted for over 15 years.
